'Pique-Fleurs en Capteur  #1' by Cécile Daladier

£2,300.00

Memory is in a way at the heart of my work. These pieces link to memory through the evocative power of water, and through the flowers themselves: the flowers of celebrations, weddings, birthdays, funerals, which celebrate or honour memories, disappearances, reunions and parties. But also, the flowers of everyday life – blooming and fading, fugitive. The water itself is fugitive, evaporating and fleeing, caught up in the passage of time that sweeps us away.”

– Cécile Daladier on this piece created for the Making Memories exhibition

By Cécile Daladier
Materials: Raku ceramics
Techniques: Hand-built
Dimensions: H;17.5cm, W;24.5cm, D;18.5cm
Care: A gentle wash with warm water. Raku pieces can be porous when holding water for extended periods of time - care should be taken when placing on sensitive surfaces, particularly wood.

This piece was created specially for our 25th anniversary exhibition, ‘Making Memories’.
